Whitmore Farms have been growing fruits and vegetables for over 20 years. Wayne works full-time for Oklahoma State University Wheat Research and Connie is a kindergarten school teacher and their other life is farming.
Whitmore Farms was the first grower to participate in farm to school before it was a recognized program and they sell to Stillwater Public Schools. They provide high quality fresh asparagus, cucumbers, cantaloupe, strawberries, squash, sweet corn and okra. They also market their produce at the Stillwater & Edmond Farmers Markets.
Their son and daughter grew up farming, paid or is paying for their college education and still continue to work at the farm in addition to work and school. Justin is now the state farmer’s market coordinator at the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry and Cara is attending Oklahoma State University.
